Your order will have minimal packaging with no plastic. I use only rescued packing paper and hemp twine to wrap your items. The envelopes are from FSC certified paper. Some tape is used to affix the label for international orders and local orders include a stamp. Other than the stamp and the tape which cannot be avoided, the rest is completely compostable.

All orders are shipped using Canada Post. Tracking is not provided on orders unless the shipping was upgraded to include shipping at checkout.

International: I am sorry but due to the nature of international post, I cannot provide an accurate delivery time

If an incorrect address was provided then the package may (but not always) get sent back to me. I will ask you to verify your shipping address. In the event that it does get "returned to sender", it may take quite a while for the package to show up in my hands once again.

In this case, once I have the items, I can either refund you the amount of the items only, or resend it to the correct address. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer.

Adding a tie onto nylon bags was a difficult endeavour as nylon is a bit more slippery of a material. A tie was left off as it wouldn't be fully effective on this type of fabric. To ensure the bag is properly sealed and to prohibit spillage, using the twist ties provided at the store is best. Some people also prefer to use reusable plastic clips.

Yes! If you would like to order a set of 3, but want 3 different colours simply order the set in the size you want and mention your colour preferences (per size if a small, medium, large set) in the "note to seller" section in your shopping cart.

A drawstring cannot full seal the opening of a bag, allowing for a lot of bulk foods to spill out. Most stores provide a tie of some sort for the dual purpose of an adequate closure as well as item identification. The absence of a drawstring allows the bag to be properly closed as well as still remaining as lightweight as possible.

You can use Eco Joy Bags at any place that you would normally used thin, plastic bags. Farmers markets, health food stores, large grocery chains, etc. If you are unsure if a particular place accepts zero-waste shopping alternatives, be sure to ask prior to using the bags. I have never had a problem, but every store is unique.

The free shipping will automatically credit on your order once the minimum for your region has been reached.

Minimums in this shop are set in Canadian dollars. If you find that your cart amount is over the minimum set and free shipping is not being applied, the exchange may not be enough to cover the minimum. Try adding an item or two to get the total over the minimum. You can also change the currency you view on Etsy to Canadian funds. This can be easily changed back once you have placed your order.

Eco Joy Bags are designed as a shopping bags rather than a storage bag. The idea is to have these bags always ready to go when grocery shopping. While there is no harm in storing dry goods in the bags, please understand that you store produce at your own risk. Fabric and moisture are not friends and as with any fabric there is a risk of mold if the conditions are right. Mold can be difficult to remove and will stain.
